1. How can I improve the quality of my
photos?
If you haven't done so already, I highly
recommend that you take a basic photography class or read some books
on the fundamentals of composition. Most community colleges offer
courses that can be very helpful.
Join a photography club. I have personally
learned a lot from the friends I have met through local photo clubs.
Also, you can find sites on the Internet where you can share photos
and get immediate feedback from your peers.
Film choice is a very important part of
image quality. Choose a film speed appropriate for your shooting conditions
(ASA 100 or less for scenics, ASA 200 and above for action). You may
also want to consider using professional films. Pro films offer higher
color saturation and produce higher quality prints. Of course, they
are more expensive than consumer films, but they are well worth the
investment.

2. Do you use filters?
Yes. The two I use most often are a circular
polarizing filter and a warming filter. The polarizing filter reduces
glare from sunlight bouncing off of objects and darkens skies. It
is also helpful around water to enhance reflections. The warming filter
can be used for sunrise and sunset shots where you want to get add
a little more color.
I also recommend that use inexpensive UV
filters on all of your lenses to prevent damage to the glass. I would
rather have to replace a $10 filter if it is scratched instead of
a $300 lens.

Proof Line papers are manufactured by the
